Tabassum passes away at 78 due to cardiac arrest – Times of India
One of India’s most popular radio voices, interviewer and talk show host, Tabassum Govil passed away today in Mumbai at the age of 78. As per reports, she suffered a massive cardiac arrest in the evening of November 18. More details are awaited. It is being said that a prayer meet will be organised in her remembrance on November 21.
Tabassum had started off as a child artiste. Her most iconic and popular show was Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan where she used to strike up conversations with celebrities. Her presentation of interviews became the template for Indian talks shows to follow in the following years.
She was born as Kiran Bala Sachdev in Bombay in 1944. She made her debut as Baby Tabassum in 1947. Tabassum was married to Vijay Govil, brother of popular TV star Arun Govil.
