Riva Arora claims she is not 12, yet does not divulge her age, says ‘it will be revealed soon’ – Times of India

Riva is a child actor, best remembered for crying in a funeral scene in the movie Uri: The Surgical Strike in 2019 and playing a young Gunjan in Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl in 2020. Post that, Riva seemed to have worked hard and groomed herself for Bollywood as it is evident from her IG handle.

Last year, she was seen in a dance video with Mika Singh that did not go down well with the masses. Netizens slammed the singer for romantically dancing with a girl young enough to be his daughter. Riva’s parents also came under the fire for encouraging Riva to take up such a project and the internet was seen seething in anger.

While at that point, it was widely speculated that Riva was just 12 years old when she shot that video, her mother later clarified that this was not the case. However, Riva herself chose to remain mum on the matter, that it until now.

In a recent interaction with indianexpress.com, the young performer said that she chooses not to focus on criticism and rather carries on with her work. Saying that she prefers to look at the brighter side of things, Riva added that the love she has received from everyone has overpowered the negativity.

However, when prodded further, Riva refused to divulge her real age, saying that ‘it will be revealed soon’. However, she reiterated that she is indeed not 12.

Riva has often been in the news for age inappropriate videos – she was also seen in a reel with Karan Kundrra last year, who is decades older to her. Netizens also found a video of hers from when she was even younger, that saw her abused and chained to a bed.
