Kartik Aaryan starrer ‘Shehzada’ fails to beat ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania’ at major multiplexes across India – Times of India

Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Shehzada’ hit the screens on Friday and expectations were high from this entertainer. After a low advance booking score, the film has failed to beat Hollywood film ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, which released on the same day.
Early trends suggest that ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ has found more takers thatn ‘Shezada’. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had shared that Kartik Aaryan’s film had earned around Rs 2.92 crore on first day, while ‘Ant-Man 3’ managed to rake in Rs 4.15 crore at major multiplex chains across the country. However, these are just the early trends for the opening day and the final figures are yet awaited.

Directed by Rohit Dhawan, ‘Shehzada’ is an official Hindi remake of 2020 Telugu hit ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’, which featured Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. Speaking about comparisons with Allu Arjun, Kartik had told ETimes, “With every film, I am being compared to something or someone. So I am okay with not reacting or not thinking about it. When I was offered the film also, I never thought of such things. Because I know that these things always happen with every film – I have seen the same pattern during Bhool Bhulaiyaa and now again during Shehzada. This is a normal question which has been asked again and again to me. But I am okay, I have done my own things and with the character. And I hope what I have done, people will like it.” ‘Shehzada’ also features Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Rajpal Yadav, Ronit Roy and Sachin Khedekar.
